SEASONAL LANDSCAPES: OIL PASTELS
SELF-PORTRAITS: CRAYONS AND WATERCOLOR PAINT
Young 5 artists loved creating their self-portraits. Each drawing truly expresses their personality. In the background of their self-portraits Young 5 artists used green and yellow watercolor paint to serve as their non-objective backdrop.
OOLA THE OWL WHO LOST HER HOOT: PAPER COLLAGE
Young 5 artists began their school year by reading Oola the Owl Who Lost Her Hoot! written by author Tim Bugbird. After finishing the children's book and discussing the appearance of Oola in the text, students created their own Owl Collage projects using a combination of colored construction paper, scrapbook paper, scissors, and glue bottles. Students were responsible for cutting and gluing their own branches, mutli-colored leaves, and each piece necessary to create their own unique owl.
